With the assistance of ongoing research regarding the use of gemstones, colors, metals and overall designs occurring in the 18th century, Historic Delights presents jewelry and accessories that give the impression of articles used in that time period.  Reenactors appreciate the affordable addition to their historic presentation without purchasing costly reproductions.  Materials used to hand-craft these items are mostly the same as the materials used more than 200 years ago.  Metals used include sterling silver, gold-filled and vermeil (a heavy gold layer on sterling silver).  Semi-precious gems, freshwater pearls, faux (or false) pearls (Abigail Adams owned a strand of these) and colored glass are also used just as they were in the 18th century.   Click here to read more about jewelry in the 18th century.
